Sometimes the yellow light pause is longer than you think. Generally speaking, that probably means the light turned red and you chose (or were persuaded) to stop. Once you stop at the light, you must wait. There is nothing for it. You are there until the light is green.
And eventually the light is green.
Two months have gone by, since the yellow light pause. The day off was wonderful, and the two hour run was a glorious pause that I hadn't realized I missed so much.
And then, that very morning, my boss of 5 years resigned. All of a sudden, I was uncertain whether my position - or company - would be moving forward, or if I should get in the turn lane.
The red light felt like forever, but of course wasn't. And now I have the green light. Same company, but new role, new boss, and new direction for the company. The reasons I took the pause day have all been addressed, and in ways I never could have predicted. I am enjoying the direction of the path ahead so much more, and most days I am eager to go find the deals and explore the opportunities.
Are there roadblocks? Sure, deals fall through. Do I need to turn on the high beams in the gloom some days? Yep. Do I occasionally feel lost or unaware what the destination is? Yes indeed.
But I'm thankful for a clear green light after a pause, and thankful for your patience during my writing hiatus. Looking forward to the next installment. Maybe some thoughts on brake light innovation?
